--> Updated: 2022-06-30

Research contents:

The Innovation Team of Non-point Source Pollution Control is dedicated to applied basic research in the major national strategic needs of food security and ecological civilization development. Its focus is agricultural non-point source pollution prevention and control, the frontiers of agricultural green high-quality development science and technology, and the development of modern agriculture. The team investigates load contribution, source analysis, spatial and temporal patterns, scale effects, and risk assessment in terms of non-point source pollution monitoring and evaluation, and  the transport path behavior process, form transformation, driving mechanism, and influence factors in the non-point source pollution process mechanism. It takes into account relevant technology, key parameters, materials and equipment, model standards, and safeguard measures in non-point source pollution prevention and control technology and products.

Research objective:

China is faced with challenges in the control of agricultural non-point source pollution and has its own agricultural characteristics. Relying on the national agricultural non-point source pollution monitoring network and the soil fertility and fertilizer benefit monitoring network, the team studies the formation mechanism of non-point source pollution in China and its water environmental effect; conducts research and development of green, intelligent and efficient agricultural non-point source pollution comprehensive prevention and control technologies, products and equipment, and enhances China's scientific and technological innovation capabilities in non-point source pollution prevention and green development. In addition, it works on agricultural non-point source pollution control theories and develops agricultural non-point source pollution prevention and control technologies, products, equipment, and standards in a bid to improve China's international competitiveness in agricultural non-point source pollution control and agricultural green development.

Research direction:

Multi-scale non-point source pollution monitoring and evaluation, non-point source pollution processes and mechanisms, and non-point source pollution prevention and control technology and product development.
