From June 22 to 24, Wu Wenbin, Director of the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning (IARRP) at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, participated in the prestigious 7th Living Planet Symposium (LPS) in Vienna, Austria. He was invited by Simonetta Cheli, Chief Officer of the Earth Observation Program at the European Space Agency (ESA). The LPS is a renowned international conference dedicated to Earth observation, held every three years. It plays a crucial role in advancing the application of cutting-edge remote sensing technologies in areas such as the atmosphere, oceans, and agriculture, and in promoting interdisciplinary integration and development. This year's conference attracted over 6,500 researchers from 199 countries.

Wu Wenbin participated in the high-level agricultural forum alongside José A. Rosero Moncayo, Director of the Statistics Division at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Bettina Baruth, Senior Advisor to the Director of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC), and Inbal Becker-Reshef, Director of NASA Harvest. During the forum, Wu shared insights on the application of Chinese Earth observation satellites in agriculture and strategies for data sharing with global users.

Researchers Yu Qiangyi, Li Wenjuan, and Dr. Li Zhuo from the Smart Agriculture team accompanied Wu and presented on topics titled "Farmland Infrastructure: A New Manifestation for Observing Human Activities" and "Synergy Use of Decametric Satellite Imageries and UAV Observations for Continuous Monitoring of Paddy Rice Growth."
