IARRP's key arable land quality laboratory approved by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs

The Key Laboratory of Arable Land Quality Monitoring and Evaluation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs declared by the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning (IARRP) of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) was recently approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

The laboratory is a professional key laboratory for the discipline group of arable land conservation, and will be jointly constructed by IARRP, Yangzhou University and Yangzhou Station of Cultivated Land Quality Protection.

The laboratory will focus on the national strategic demand of improving the arable land quality. With the goal of soil health conservation and the arable land disciplines construction, the laboratory will carry out research on new theories, technologies and methods for arable land quality monitoring and evaluation, and provide scientific and technological support for the improvement of arable land quality and the high-quality and green development of agriculture.

IARRP has six key laboratories under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, covering agricultural remote sensing, plant nutrition and fertilizer, non-point source pollution control, agricultural microbial resources, monitoring and evaluation of grassland resources, and monitoring and evaluation of arable land quality. The newly added laboratory further improves the layout of IARRP's scientific and technological innovation platform, and is of great significance for cultivating a national-level arable land scientific and technological innovation platform and promoting the high-level development of IARRP's scientific and technological innovation.
