Nanning host 2025 Smart Agriculture Innovation Conference

On Nov 6, the 2025 Smart Agriculture Innovation Conference was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The event was co-organized by the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning (IARRP) of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), the National Alliance for Smart Agriculture Science and Technology Innovation, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Nanning Municipal People's Government, and the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

Jiang Wensheng, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Xu Xianhui, Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. Ye Yujiang, Vice President of CAAS, also attended the event and delivered a keynote speech.

Themed "Digital Intelligence Empowerment · Integrated Innovation," the conference featured keynote speeches, thematic reports and product exhibitions. Participants shared application cases and practical experiences, explored frontier trends and development pathways in agricultural science and technology, and discussed approaches to accelerating the demonstration and application of smart agriculture technologies in support of agricultural and rural modernization.

The meeting emphasized that smart agriculture is a key direction for developing modern agriculture and an important driver for building an agricultural powerhouse. It called for enhanced policy guidance and innovation driven by practical applications to systematically advance the development of smart agriculture.

During the plenary keynote forum, seven academicians, experts and government representatives from China and abroad delivered presentations on cutting-edge technologies and strategic pathways in areas such as smart farmland, intelligent agricultural machinery, and artificial intelligence.

Leaders from the Ministries of Agriculture of Laos and Bulgaria attended and delivered remarks, while the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation addressed the conference via video. Nearly 1,000 participants joined the event, including representatives from more than 20 countries—such as Vietnam, Myanmar, Nigeria, Thailand, Hungary, Italy, Korea and Germany—as well as domestic government departments, research institutions, social organizations and enterprises.
