CAAS IARRP advances research on paddy soil nitrification by using green manure

IARRP | Updated: 2020-10-19

As nitrification has an important impact on soil nitrogen availability in farmland ecosystems, winter green manure can improve the microbial community structure involved in the nitrogen cycle and reduce its loss in rice fields.

In recent years, the green manure group of the fertilizer and fertilization technical team of the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences has studied the role of green manure Astragalus sinicus  in regulation of nitrification and its microbial mechanism on rice fields.

The institute’s relevant research results have been published in well-known domestic and foreign journals, including Geoderma, Applied Soil Ecology, European Journal of Soil Biology and ACTA PRATACULTURAE SINICA.
