China Agricultural Green Development Research Association

The China Agricultural Green Development Research Association is a national first-level society approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China (formerly known as the Ministry of Agriculture of China) on March 23, 2020. Its predecessor was the China Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning Association, which was established with the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China in December 1991 as a national first-level academic and non-profit social organization. Since 1997, the association has been affiliated to the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

The association attracts talented people and adheres to scientific research and excellent services, norms and innovation. It strives to work on agricultural and rural modernization and carries out theoretical and practical research on agricultural green development, focused on major strategic, forward-looking and key scientific issues. It is also dedicated to promoting the realization of the concept of a community of humanity and nature, and contributes to high-quality agricultural development and ecological progress in China.

The research association has about 3,500 individual members and nearly 800 group members. It has five departments, namely the general office, the research department, the patent and achievement transformation department, the training and exchange service department, and the discipline inspection and supervision department. The association administers 11 professional committees in the fields of agricultural regional development, agricultural resources, agricultural remote sensing, agricultural ecology and the environment, agricultural natural disaster reduction, organic agriculture, leisure agriculture, agricultural disaster risk, characteristic towns and agricultural parks, agricultural biomass energy, and rural cooperative organization development research. In addition, it publishes the Chinese Journal of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning.
